Sadiya Moolla
SALT
Hello, my name is Sadiya.
I graduated as a Speech and Language Therapist from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, in 2012. My early career involved three years of experience supporting both adults and children in a healthcare setting. In 2016, I transitioned to working with children in schools, and over the past nine years, I have gained extensive experience across various educational environments, including mainstream and special needs schools. During this time, I have supported learners with a wide range of medical conditions and associated communication challenges, such as speech sound disorders, language learning difficulties, ADD/ADHD, dyslexia, cerebral palsy (CP), Down syndrome, and autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
My areas of interest within speech and language therapy include supporting the development of language skills, fostering social interaction, building foundational literacy essential for academic success, and improving speech sound clarity. I believe that effective communication is the cornerstone of a child’s confidence, enabling them to express themselves, connect meaningfully with their peers, and fully engage with the curriculum to reach their potential.
I am passionate about working collaboratively with families, educators, and other professionals to ensure that each child receives the support they need to thrive. My goal is to make the developmental process functional, engaging, and enjoyable so that every child’s progress is both impactful and rewarding.
Outside of my professional life, I love spending time outdoors and chasing the sun. I enjoy travelling to new places, baking, gardening, and staying active through exercise. When not working, I cherish quality time with my husband and young daughter.
If you were to ask my closest friends, they would describe me as dedicated, thoughtful, creative, and motivated – qualities that I bring to both my personal and professional life.
The Words First value that resonates most strongly with me is working collaboratively with other professionals and families. This collaborative approach ensures that every child receives holistic support. By combining insights from families, educators, and other professionals, we can develop tailored strategies to meet the unique needs of each child and help them reach their full potential.
