- Providing timely and targeted support to enhance the overall educational experience and wellbeing of the student, ensuring they’re given opportunities to reach their full potential through evidence-based methods. EPs do this by:
Educational Psychologists (EPs) are focussed on a child’s overall learning, and their academic, social, and emotional wellbeing. They work closely with teachers, and support staff, parents and other professionals involved to address and improve a wide range of issues that may be impacting the child’s learning and success at school.
- Carrying out a range of assessments to understand a child’s cognitive abilities, emotional wellbeing, and learning styles
- Developing intervention plans to address academic, behavioural, and emotional challenges
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and other professionals to provide insights and strategies for supporting students
- Providing training sessions for teachers and parents on topics such as behaviour management or learning support
- Providing guidance to social services when vulnerable children are involved.
- Educational Psychology is based on current research that is shaped and informed through unique collaboration with the Words First’s team of Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Play Therapists and Counsellors.
