Speech and Language Therapist & Clinical Supervisor

Hello, my name is Ros!

I began my academic journey at King’s College London in 2006, where I completed a BA (Hons) in English Language and Communication. I then pursued a PGDip in Speech and Language Therapy at City University of London in 2009, followed by an MSc in Speech and Language Therapy in 2015.

I have worked across a variety of settings in both the NHS and private sector, supporting children and young people aged 2–18 in mainstream primary and secondary schools, SEMH settings, and specialist provisions (ARPs). I also work independently with private clients.

Before qualifying as a SaLT, I worked as a Support Worker for children with learning disabilities and as a Learning Support Assistant in a mainstream primary school and ASD Resource Base. These experiences shaped my passion for inclusive education and communication support.

My special interests include Developmental Language Disorder (DLD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), SEMH, bilingualism (EAL), and Selective Mutism. I am passionate about helping school staff, families, and professionals implement effective strategies that promote student independence and confidence.

As a Clinical Supervisor, I currently support twelve Speech and Language Therapists in the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham. I also serve as a Placement Educator and have supervised seven student therapists from City University and UCL. Previously, I was the company’s Social Media Manager, creating engaging content to raise awareness of our work.

In my spare time, I enjoy interior design shows, creating art, shopping, visiting the theatre and cinema, and travelling. My friends would describe me as warm-hearted, resourceful, helpful, and enthusiastic.

The Words First value that resonates most with me is collaboration and support. I love being part of a diverse team where knowledge and skills are shared to support children, families, and school staff. I’m proud to be part of a company that offers so many opportunities for growth and development.
