Hello, my name is Mia.
I studied Speech and Language Therapy at De Montfort University and graduated in 2024. During my training, I gained valuable experience across a variety of settings including schools, clinics, and community services. I’ve worked with children and young people with speech, language, and communication needs, and I’m especially interested in early intervention and supporting neurodivergent children.
I’ve completed additional training in Makaton and am keen to continue developing my skills to better support the children and families I work with.
The Words First value that resonates most with me is collaboration and support. I believe the best outcomes for children come from working closely with families, schools, and other professionals, and creating a supportive environment where everyone feels heard and empowered.
Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors—whether that’s going for walks, trying out new cafés, or travelling to new places. If you called my best friend and asked her to describe me, I think she’d say I’m energetic, kind, and talkative—I always bring positive energy into the room and enjoy connecting with others through conversation.
