Hello!
I’m Abi, a qualified Speech and Language Therapist with a degree from the University of East Anglia, where I graduated in 2017. I have a wealth of experience supporting children and young people with speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN) in both school and community settings. I’m also a Licensed Makaton Tutor.
My specialist area of interest is augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and I’m passionate about helping students find effective ways to communicate and engage with those around them. One of the Words First values that resonates most with me is keeping the student’s best interests at the heart of all our decisions. I believe that recognising and nurturing each student’s unique abilities is key to achieving meaningful and lasting progress.
If you asked my best friend to describe me, she’d say I’m calm, thoughtful, and optimistic – qualities I strive to bring to every interaction to create a positive, supportive space for growth and connection.
