Hello, my name is Kaho.
I completed my masters in Speech and Language Therapy at University College London in 2020. I joined Words First as a newly qualified therapist, and since then have had the opportunity to work in a range of school settings including mainstream primary and secondary schools, ARPs, an alternative provision, and Autism special school.
My clinical areas of interest include working with autistic children and young people, as well as those with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs. I love the multidisciplinary nature of the job and have enjoyed working in collaboration with other professionals including school staff, Occupational Therapists, Music Therapists, and counsellors.
The Words First value that resonates the most with me is delivering child-centred therapy. I truly believe that through considering the child/young person at the heart of every decision we make, we are able to give them a voice and help them make huge leaps in confidence and skills – it has been incredibly rewarding observing and being a part of their journeys to develop their speech, language, and communication skills!
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, cooking/baking, and exploring new places (often with a lot of walking!).
