Hello, my name is Caron.
I graduated from the University of Cape Town in South Africa in 1998 and have since completed postgraduate training in Sensory Integration and Neurodevelopmental Therapy. My professional experience spans various settings in both South Africa and the UK.
I am passionate about working with children and strongly believe in the importance of a multidisciplinary approach. Collaboration within the team is essential to address each child’s unique needs holistically. I recognise that parents play a pivotal role in their child’s development, and I take pride in actively involving them in the treatment process.
The Words First value that resonates most with me is being child-centred. Every decision I make in my Occupational Therapy practice is driven by the best interests of the child.
In my role as Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist at Words First, I am committed to supporting and inspiring the OTs I work with, just as many of my supervisors have inspired me. I strive to encourage my colleagues to reach their full potential and deliver the best possible care.
Outside of work, I cherish spending time with my wonderful husband and our two amazing daughters. Together, we enjoy exploring London and the countryside. If you were to ask my best friend to describe me, she would likely say I am caring, friendly, and very reliable.
