Hello, my name is Brigid!
I graduated in August 2024 with a Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from RUSH University in Chicago, Illinois. I am a paediatric Occupational Therapist with experience working across Early Intervention, therapeutic day programmes and schools, as well as outpatient paediatric therapy settings.
The Words First value that resonates most with me is keeping the child’s best interests at heart. In my practice, cultivating joy is a priority. I focus on building strong relationships with the children I work with, incorporating their interests and ensuring their families’ goals are at the heart of every session. I believe that when therapy is motivating and enjoyable, children are more engaged and able to make meaningful progress.
I am passionate about partnering with children, their teachers and their families to work towards goals that are meaningful and valuable to their everyday lives. My areas of interest include sensory integration, executive functioning and neurodiversity-affirming practice.
Outside of work, you’ll find me reading, playing video games, doing embroidery and exploring London. I’ve also recently taken up 35mm photography, which has been a fun new creative hobby!
If you asked my friends to describe me, I think they would say I’m passionate, inclusive and driven.
