Our lead therapists for social communication carry out one-off assessments in school to assess the needs of identified pupils using the SCERTS® framework.
SCERTS® is a multidisciplinary approach focusing on building competence in social communication, emotional regulation and supporting interactions with others.
The Words First therapist will spend a full day in school assessing the student’s social and learning environment to understand the needs of the pupil and gain a clear picture of any changes and strategies required for the student to reach their full potential in school.
A full report with detailed recommendations is provided and any follow-up or training can then be arranged.
