Counselling provides children and young people with a confidential, non-judgemental and safe space to talk about their thoughts and feelings. This often helps children gain a different perspective on their problems and the issues they’re encountering, while building their own sense of confidence and self-esteem.

- The age range of children varies according to their development and level of understanding, but it is usually for children between 9 -19 years.
- The duration and number of sessions is highly dependent on the student and their unique needs. An initial agreement can be made on a set number of sessions which can be reviewed over time. There is no minimum number of sessions required.
- Our counselling is based on current research that is shaped and informed through unique collaboration with the Words First’s team of Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Play Therapists and Educational Psychologists.
